What sort of people usually go
to Gaia? |
Our holidays are popular with men and women. We have people of all ages and our
average age guest is between 35 to 45 professional women. Most of our guests
come by themselves and often it is the first holiday they have had by
themselves. We also have couples and friends who come together.

How far is it to the beach?
It is approx 15 min walk to the beach from the retreat.
Is it safe to swim?
Yes, the water is shallow and you have to walk out quite a long way to get into
deep water. The water is a beautiful clear blue and usually like a mill pond.
Are the beaches sandy?
Yes, the local beach is a very long sandy beach and people usually find their
favourite spot. There are sun beds and umbrellas and also some tavernas and more
simple kiosks to buy drinks and snacks along the sea front.
Are there swimming pools?
Yes, there are a number of swimming pools within walking distance and you can
use them free of charge.
I have
never done yoga or meditation
before, is that a problem?
No, not at all. We specialise in small groups so that Frances can focus on
individuals within the class. The class is mixed ability and taught according to
the level of the participants. We are used to having complete beginners at Gaia
and everyone is encouraged to participate to a level that they feel comfortable.

What is there to do?
Depending on what time of year you come and what you like to do, Zakynthos has
plenty to offer. From just chilling out at the beach and eating at local village
tavernas. And relaxing at our lovely village coffee shop. There are local
activities including mosaic classes, diving, waterspouts and lovely walks. You
can enjoy boat trips and trips around the island or to the neighbouring island
of Kephalonia and nearby Olympia. Or hire a car and tour the island
independently. It is a small island 24 miles by 11. When you arrive at our
welcome meeting we can help you with all of this.

rather be in a single room.
